Standing On The Promises

Oh, loving Father,
I know that You’re there
I know You’re listening
I know that You care

But problems surround me
And it’s too hard to choose
Which way I should turn
Or what I should do

My precious child,
Of course I am here
Haven’t I promised,
You have nothing to fear?

I see your heart
Each time that you pray
Haven’t I promised,
With you I will stay?

I hear You, Lord,
Your words from above
I want to believe
I look for Your love

But my strength is failing
I’m not strong enough
To keep myself standing
To deal with this stuff

Ah, little one, 
Take rest in My arms
Haven’t I promised, 
I will keep you from harm?

I am your refuge
Ever present with you
What I have I promised
I surely will do!

My promises are just
They are yea and amen
They’ll work for you
Again and again

Whatever you need
You’ve only to ask
I’ll fight for you
I’m up for the task

Haven’t I done
All I said that I would?
What I have spoken,
Have I not made it good?

I’ve had your back 
Through thick and thin
And today I’m the same
As I always have been.

So be strong and courageous
In all that you do
For what I have promised
I’ve promised to YOU.  

Heavenly Father, 
Now it is plain
It is Your promises
That I need to claim

Thanking You always
For all that You’ve done
Because You have promised
The victory’s been won

And now I can stand
Steadfastly assured
That Your promises are true
For You gave me Your Word
