I looked at the world
And all I could see
Was turmoil and chaos
Surrounding me
Bad news filled my ears
Day out and day in
It seemed like a battle
That no one could win
So I retreated inside
To my own little space
Surely there I could find
Relief from this race
But inside or out
No peace to be had
Something was missing
That I needed bad
It wasn’t until
The Bible’s pages I turned
That I found the help
For which I had yearned
For only God’s words
Are the truth in this life
And only God’s love
Can put an end to all strife
If this world is your friend
Disappointment will reign
If you trust in yourself
Your strength will soon wane
But when God you trust
And His Word you believe
You’ll have His power
To completely succeed
So don’t be afraid
Of that worldly view
For God’s Word provides
A loving haven for you
Under God’s wings
You can safely rest
For God is your Father
And You are His best

The Mystery
I want to shout it from the rooftop
I want the world to see
The mystery has been revealed
Now I have Christ in me
God’s plan for all the ages
His brilliant strategy
Beforehand was kept secret
But now unveiled in you and me
Past Prophets didn’t know it
Though they searched with all their might
Their efforts proved unfruitful
For God hid it from their sight
God’s enemy didn’t know it
He thought he’d won the game
But when the secret was revealed
No victory could he claim
In Christ Jesus we are saved
And our future is secure
For we are fellow heirs with him
Now and forever more
And one body are we all
God’s promise in Christ is ours
It’s we who show the mystery
To principalities and powers
So let’s speak with unbound boldness
Of the riches of Christ inside
And our eternal glory
For the mystery we cannot hide

God’s Gentle Words
Oh, precious child
You don’t need to cry
We will get through this
Together, you and I
I know that you’re hurting
I see that you’re scared
But with My mighty arm
You’ll be freed from your snare
And if you ever feel
Like you’re all alone
Be comforted to know
That in you, I’m at home
When life seems too hard
Or the outcome looks bleak
Even then, I’ll provide
All your needs, I will meet
And should you fall down
Reach out for My hand
‘Cause I’ll pick you up
By My strength you can stand
If you become weary
I will give you rest
With My love and peace
You are forever blessed
So, precious child
On Me, cast all your cares
For I will never fail you
I hear all your prayers

God Never Leaves You
God never ever leaves you,
You’re too precious in His sight
God never ever forsakes you,
Not even in the darkest night
God never ever lies to you,
That’s something He cannot do
God never ever condemns you,
By His mercy your life is new
God never ever ignores you,
He listens each time you pray
God never ever tempts you,
For your escape, He makes a way
God never ever forgets you,
On His palms, you are tattooed
God never ever fails you
By His Son, you’ve been rescued
God always always cares for you
He binds your every wound
God always always guides you
His Word keeps your life in tune
God always always comforts you
He surrounds you with his love
God always always strengthens you
He gave you power from above
God always always protects you
He keeps you safe from harm
God always always provides for you
For you, He bares His mighty arm
God never ever leaves us
Because this one thing is sure
God will always always love us
With His love that’s true and pure

Free In Christ
With awe-inspiring grandeur
The noble eagle soared
High above the treetops
Independence his reward
He flew with grace and dignity
As only the strong can fly
With a wave of his majestic wings
He ruled the endless sky
I couldn’t help but watch his skill
As he sailed around the clouds
Oh, to be just like him
In the freedom his life allows
Then my thoughts returned to me
There was something I forgot
We are just like that fearless bird
For our salvation has been wrought
Jesus Christ has paid the price
Our wholeness to provide
Now we all are born again
Righteous and sanctified
Bondage cannot hold us down
For we’ve been given liberty
We can soar like eagles do
Because Christ has made us free
So, if you see an eagle fly
Remember that you can too
For all his freedom and his strength
Is but a glint of what’s in you!

Dealing With The Adversary
My enemy is a mean old bird
From me, he tries to steal God’s Word
He tries to fool me with his lies
He thinks he’ll make me compromise
He shoots his fiery darts at me
He thinks his roaring will make me freeze
He condemns me for my past mistakes
He thinks by that, my heart will break
He tries to keep me down with pressures
He tries to steer my wrong with pleasures
He thinks against his wiles I cannot stand
He thinks he has the upper hand
BUT I’ve got news for that S.O.B.
In Christ I have the victory!
My ransom has been fully paid
Free from his clutches, I have been made!
Over my life he has no right
For I’m a son of God with might!
Greater is he that is in me
Than that old snake will ever be!
I am equipped with all I need
Against his methods, I will succeed!
My mind’s renewed to hold God’s Word
I’m not afraid of that old bird!
So if I hear that lion’s roar
I know that I need fear no more
Because it’s Christ in me, I’m sure
And I am more than a conqueror!

My Reflection
Hey mirror,
Why are you so mean to me?
You show things I don’t like to see
You’re quick to reveal my flaws and spots
You’re apt to point out what I’m not
My lack, you like to emphasize
You set my frailties before my eyes
What did I ever do to you
That makes you want to make me blue?
By setting a standard I cannot meet
You always leave me in defeat
Wait a minute! My mirror replied
I’m not to blame, I’m on your side
For all those things you think you see
Do not emanate from me
The problem is the glasses you wear
I think you need another pair
The ones you’re using are a worldly sort
Their job, your perception to distort
Looking through those jaded lenses
Has caused you all these consequences
It’s time you put on Godly frames
And see yourself as His Word proclaims
A son of God with Christ within
Freed from all the penalties of sin
A child, God calls His masterpiece
Filled with His power, joy and peace
You’re perfect, complete and lovely too
That’s what God sees when He looks at you
So now my mirror and I are friends
For I’ve learned to see as God intends
A lovely child full of His grace
With the glow of His light upon my face By Terri Lee
Can’t Be Silent
A sound went out
Over all the earth
A joyful noise
About the new birth
Some people listened
And others did not
But for those who believed
Salvation was wrought
Lives became saved
From the wrath to come
Freedom was realized
Fears overcome
Bodies restored
And minds were made whole
The answers received
Enlightened the soul
A new beginning
A brand-new life
With God as their Father
The end of all strife
Those who were dead
Are now made alive
And in God’s presence
They’ll ever abide
They were without hope
But now heaven-bound
With life eternal
Because of that sound
This joyful noise
Begins with ONE voice
Let that ONE be yours
And you’ll forever rejoice

A Merry Heart
My travels started with my hopes
Soaring loftily above me
I knew the journey would be long
But that is what it should be
At first, my gait was confident
My steps as light as air
But then I hit a roadblock
For this, I was not prepared
Yet soon I found my way again
But the path was not as smooth
My steps now more deliberate
I examined every move
And with this added caution
My burden seemed to grow
The journey became arduous
And my steps began to slow
I trudged along life’s long road
Growing weary from the task
A heavy burden on my back
Each step, harder than the last
‘Til I met a kindly soul
Who offered, my burden to bear
He took from me that heavy load
And showed me tender care
He walked beside me all the way
Speaking words that eased my fear
And suddenly my wounded heart
Was glowing with lively cheer
My steps are light as air again
My heart sings joyful songs
Because the healing of God’s Word
Brought me back where I belong

Be Strong In The Lord
Heavenly Father,
Please hear my prayer
My life is in shambles
It’s too much to bear
Oh precious son,
You need have no fear
My power is in you
Be of good cheer
But kind Father,
This thing is too rough
The battle is raging
How can I be tough?
Be strong my son,
You have all that you need
With My boundless strength
You shall surely succeed
But dear Father,
How can that be
When pain and sadness
Is all that I see?
Oh My beloved,
My power is great
I’ll fight for you
And I won’t be late
Stand fast in My might
And not in your own
For the battle’s not yours
And you’re not alone
My loving Father,
I praise and thank You
For Your mighty power
With which I’m endued
I’ll rely on Your strength
In all that I face
For I know with Your might
I can finish this race
My much cherished son,
That’s all I would ask
Allow Me to help you
Whatever the task
My joy is fulfilled
In each victory we share
Together we make
One triumphal pair!
